The Costa Brava is blessed with a superb Mediterranean climate all year round. The Costa Brava summers are generally quite long with average temperatures reaching around 25°C and tends to start in June and end in September. Due to the location of the Costa Brava the area tends to receive these cooler temperatures as well as being slightly wetter than the more southern coastal towns of Spain. Autumn hits the Costa Brave around October and normally lasts till about the end of November. Temperatures in autumn don't normally rise any higher than 21°C at the beginning of October and will eventually drop down to about 16°C throughout November.
The beginning of the winter season in the Costa Brava starts with the introduction of December and doesn't end until the end of February. Temperatures throughout the winter months typically reach a high of around 13°C but can drop to as low as 7°C at times. Although the temperatures are considerably lower than the summer months the area does still receive many days of beautiful sunshine that immerses the Costa Brava with a wonderful feeling of open freshness. Spring normally starts in March right through till the end of May with temperatures rising with the passing of each month. Average temperatures in March are about 16°C; this will then rise to about 18°C in April and eventually rise again to about 21°C in May in preparation for the following summer months.
